![]() So you want to know more. Well, let's see, where should I start. I guess to begin with I can tell you that my Mom is fond of telling people that I was born a witch, that she didn't raise me that way! Although she did see to it that I was exposed to as many spiritual paths as possible in the tiny town we lived in. Some of the first books I remember seeing on her bookshelf were Edgar Cayce, Seth, Tarot, Kahlil Gibran, and other metaphysical type books, as well as the Bible.
The best part about the way I was raised is that I was taught that there are many choices to make in regards to one's spirituality, and that none are necessarily "wrong". When I was introduced to Wicca in high school I was interested, but then all things remotely related to the occult interested me. It wasn't until I was in my 20's that I was re-introduced to the "Craft of the Wise". By then I'd seen a lot and experienced even more and the teachings and doctrines of Wicca really appealed to me. Little did I know at that time that this was to become a lifelong pursuit. A friend recently commented that it is really hard to explain something that is so a part of your everyday life to someone who doesn't begin to understand the basic concepts of what it means to be a witch. That is so true. Easier to explain what makes the world go around! (LOL) Wicca or Witchcraft isn't merely a belief system it's a lifestyle, but more than that it's a part of the very fiber of my existance. I see many young people embracing the Pagan way of life because it sounds so "cool", or because one of their friends calls themself a witch. What most people don't realize is that this isn't a simple choice to make. Calling oneself a witch doesn't make one a witch. Only by studying and learning and experiencing and accepting responsibility for your every action can one truly start to understand what being a witch means. It isn't all about casting spells and dancing under the full moon. It's actually a lot of hard work! But at the same time that hard work is more rewarding than anything else I can imagine. Once you truly answer the Call of the Goddess you belong to her for the rest of your life. ![]() ![]()
